About My UW

MyUW is a web portal for students, faculty, and staff at the University of Washington. It provides access to various resources such as email, course information, registration, grades, and financial aid. 

To access MyUW, users need to sign in with their UW NetID and password. The University of Wisconsin System also has a web portal called My UW that requires users to authenticate with their local organization.

 The University of Wisconsin-Madison has its own version of My UW that provides access to academic and administrative services

UW Oshkosh is another university that offers various majors, minors, emphases, certificates, and scholarships to students. It also provides resources for academics, involvement, financial aid, and more through its One-Stop service.

My UW Seattle

The University of Washington (UW) is a public research university in Seattle, Washington. It was founded in 1861 and is one of the oldest universities on the West Coast. UW has three campuses: Seattle, Bothell, and Tacoma. The Seattle campus is the largest and offers undergraduate, graduate, and professional degree programs. As of fall 2021, UW had a total undergraduate enrollment of 36,206 students.

How to apply for UW financial aid

To apply for financial aid at the University of Washington, you should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA) each year by January 15th to be considered for priority funding. Washington College Grant (WA Grant) gives more money to more people for more types of education and training beyond high school. Complete a financial aid application to find out how much money may be available to you.

In Washington, there are two different applications for financial aid, but you only need to complete one: Complete the FAFSA if you are a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.

Complete the WASFA if you are not eligible to complete the FAFSA due to immigration status, defaulted federal loans, or other issues with federal aid.

The UW College of Education Faculty Council distributes a number of scholarships annually. Most of these scholarships are made possible through the generous gifts of alumni and other supporters.

In the scholarship process, incoming students are generally given first consideration, as scholarships are awarded based on merit and/or need.

To receive financial aid at UW School of Medicine, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) annually. The FAFSA opens every year on October 1st and UW’s priority deadline is January 15th.(My UW)

You should submit your FAFSA by the priority deadline even if you have not been admitted yet. 

As a medical student, you only need to include your information on the FAFSA. However, if you plan to apply for a SOM scholarship, you must also include your parent’s information on the FAFSA.

UW Financial Aid Requirements

To qualify for federal financial aid at the University of Washington, a student must meet certain eligibility requirements.(My UW)

These include being a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or another eligible non-citizen; being admitted to the university in an approved program and meeting minimum enrollment requirements; registering with Selective Service if required; and meeting UW’s standards for Satisfactory Academic Progress.

In addition, students must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and list UW as one of their college choices. The priority filing date for the 2022-2023 school year is January 15, 2022. 

Students whose applications are processed and completed by this date will receive the best financial aid package available to them. The UW Title IV School Code is 003925. The university may also require students to verify the accuracy of the information provided on their FAFSA.

UW Financial Aid Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for financial aid at the University of Washington, students must meet a set of common eligibility requirements These include being a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or another eligible noncitizen; being admitted to an approved degree or certificate program; not having loans in excess of the aggregate limits of the aid programs; and making satisfactory academic progress towards a degree. International students with F-1, F-2, J-1, J-2, and G-series visas are not eligible for federal student aid.

In addition to these common eligibility requirements, students must also resubmit the FAFSA/WASFA each year to be considered for aid the following academic year. 

To maintain their eligibility for financial aid, students must also be making satisfactory academic progress (SAP). This includes maintaining a cumulative completion rate of at least 67% and meet minimum GPA requirements.
