Find the Print Screen Key on Your Dell Keyboard
On your Dell computer running Windows 10, you don’t need to use a special utility to take screenshots. You can use Windows 10’s built-in screenshot options to capture your screen. This means pressing the Print Screen key on your keyboard.

On your Dell laptop or desktop, you will find this Print Screen key at the top-right corner of the keyboard (next to the Function keys.)
If it isn’t there, check the Function keys; you might find the key there. It’s commonly located on the F10 key. If you don’t see the key on your keyboard, use the Alt+Insert key combination instead.
Be aware that Dell utilizes a variety of labels for the Print Screen key. On your keyboard, it may be named PrintScreen, PrntScrn, PrntScr, PrtScn, PrtSc, PrtSc, PrtSc, or something similar.
Take the Screenshot on Your Dell Laptop or Desktop
Now that you’ve discovered the Print Screen key on your Dell computer, you can begin taking screenshots.
Here are several methods for taking screenshots.
Take a Screenshot and Save It to Clipboard
To snap a screenshot of your full screen and save it to your clipboard, simply hit one key on your keyboard.
First, navigate to the screen you wish to capture a screenshot of. While on that screen, press the Print Screen key on your keyboard once. This copies a screenshot of the full screen to your clipboard.
To view it, open an image editor such as Paint and paste your screenshot using Ctrl+V.
And that’s all. Make sure you save your screenshot before closing the image editor (Paint) app.
Capture a Screenshot and Save It as a PNG File
Use an extra key in conjunction with the Print Screen button to take a screenshot and store it directly as a PNG picture file on your Dell computer.
To begin, open the screen you wish to capture a screenshot of. Press the Windows+Print Screen keys on your keyboard at the same time. This takes a screenshot of your screen and stores it as a PNG file.
This PNG file is located on your computer at the following directory. Replace USERNAME with your personal username in the path below. If you like, you can change the default screenshot saving folder on your PC.
C:\Users\USERNAME\Pictures\Screenshots
And that’s how you neatly gather all your screenshots in a single folder.
Capture a Screenshot of a Specific Window
Windows 10 allows you to snap a screenshot of a single window on your PC while removing the background.
To begin, open the window that you want to capture.
Press the Alt+Print Screen key combination on your keyboard. This copies the current window’s screenshot to your clipboard.
To examine your screenshot, use an image editor such as Paint and hit Ctrl+V. Your screenshot will be displayed.
