Maseno University e-learning portal joining instructions

After you have successfully been admitted to any e-course certificate, diploma or degree, you need to:

  1. Fill in all the instructions forms: You can download them from Maseno e-campus only if you have been admitted.
  2. Submit the documents: The document to be considered for submission includes
  • Student Personal Details Form – MSU/JI/1
  • Commitment on Offer – MSU/JI2/A & B
  • Student Medical Examination Form – MSU/JI/3
  • Emergency Operation Form – MSU/JI/4
  • Declaration – MSU/JI/7

You should return the duly filled versions to the following address:

Maseno University,

P.O. Box Private Bag, Maseno.

You will receive login information via the contacts you supplied during the application step after the documents have been confirmed.

Please be aware that you are not able to establish an account on your own. Only accounts that have already been created by the system administrator are accessible. Therefore, don’t omit the steps listed above.

Additionally, do not mistake the eLearning platform for the Maseno university student portal app. The earlier version includes information about your fees and exam outcomes but not course materials and notes.

You will need access to the following:

  • A browser
  • A reliable source of internet connection
  • Your e-campus login details
  • A laptop, desktop, or tablet
  • Basic computer skills

Follow the procedure below to login into your account:

  1. Open your browser: You can use any browser for this procedure.
  2. Go to the Maseno e-learning portal. The faster your internet speed is, the quicker the site widgets will be retrieved.
  3. Provide your username and password
  4. Tap “Log in”: Tick the “Remember Username” box and click on the said button, which is blue.

You are now on your account’s homepage. You can now access your diploma, certificate, or degree course contents.

To log out, navigate to your account details and tap on the “Log Out” button.

How to reset your e-campus password

Follow the procedure below:

  1. Follow steps 1 and 2 in the above procedure: You need to open your browser and navigate the portal’s login page.
  2. Initiate the process: Select the blue “Forgotten your username or password.”

3. Enter your email or username: You can either search your account in the e-campus database via username or email address.

4. Click on the Search button: The system will automatically retrieve your account and sent an email to the registered address.

5. Retrieve the mail: Go to your inbox and select the mail. Follow the instructions to reset your e-campus credentials.

6. Set a new password: Make sure you can remember it easily. You can also save it on your browser so that the login details will be prefilled next time you access the platform.

Maseno University e-learning orientation

You must complete a 2-week obligatory orientation before signing up for any course on the site. The orientation takes a minimum of 6 hours to finish.

Navigate to “Courses” and then to “Schools and Faculties” to begin the orientation. Go to the “Support” option while you’re here, then the “e-campus virtual office spaces.” In order to begin your orientation, tap on the widget.

Maseno University e-learning portal module registration

The minimum number of modules you can register for is two. You need the following before registering:

  • Clear any outstanding fees before 22nd May this year.
  • Your course booklet to help you identify the models you should register for.
  • The requirements mentioned in the above procedure, including a source of internet and browser.
  • Your admission number.
  • Your ID or passport number.

Use the steps below:

  1. Go to the e-campus registration page.
  2. Provide your admission number: It should be in the format used in your enrolment letter.
  3. Enter your national ID or passport number: Use the correct number you provided during your registration period.
  4. Tap the Login button: This option is below the ID text box.
  5. Select the course you are registering for: You only need to choose the module you want to enroll in from a drop-down menu with pre-selected options according to the degree, diploma, or certificate you are taking.
  6. Enter your personal details: You will be asked for your admission number, salutation, name, gender, date of birth, and so forth.
  7. Indicate whether you have taken the orientation course: Remember that you should have taken this module before registering for any other unit.
  8. Specify your registration type: You need to indicate whether you are retaking the subject or if you are taking it for the first time.
  9. Submit the details: Check whether all the details you have entered are correct. Once you have confirmed the information, click on the Submit button.

10. Successful registration: You will receive confirmation messages via email or SMS if the procedure was a success.

Maseno University e-learning fees structure

You should pay the following amount of fees according to the course or module you are taking on the e-campus platform:

Certificate programmes

  • Certificate in Basic Statistics (eStats) – Ksh. 25,000
  • Certificate in Bridging Mathematics – Ksh. 25,000

Undergraduate courses

  • Tuition – Ksh. 4,500 per module
  • Examination – Ksh. 500 per module
  • Registration – Ksh. 1,000 per year
  • Student ID – Ksh. 400 one-time fee
  • Material Development – Ksh. 600 per module
  • Library access fee – Ksh. 1,000 per year
  • Online orientation and support – Ksh. 500 and Ksh. 2,900 or Ksh. 5,600 per year
  • Total (Excluding statutory fee): Ksh. 313,600

If you are taking a Bachelor of Business Administration, an industrial attachment is mandatory. This adds an extra fee of Ksh. 4,400

Postgraduate diploma in education

  • Tuition – Ksh. 3,000 per module
  • Examination – Ksh. 500 per module
  • Registration – Ksh. 1,000 per year
  • Student ID – Ksh. 400 one-time fee
  • Material Development – Ksh. 500 per module
  • Library access fee – Ksh. 1,000 per year
  • Online orientation and support – Ksh. 5,600 per year
  • Total (Excluding statutory fee) – Ksh. 76,000

Masters programmes

For the Master of Science in Quantitative Research Methods (ERM), Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, Ecotourism Management, and Supply Chain Management, you will pay the following:

  • Tuition – Ksh. 11,500 per module
  • Examination – Ksh. 500 per module
  • Registration – Ksh. 1,000 per year
  • Student ID – Ksh. 400 one-time fee
  • Material Development – Ksh. 500 per module
  • Library access fee – Ksh. 1,000 per year
  • Online orientation and support – Ksh. 500 and Ksh. 2,900 per year
  • Total (Excluding statutory fee) – Ksh. 200,000

For Master of Public Health (MPH) you will pay:

  • Tuition – Ksh. 15,000 per module
  • Examination – Ksh. 500 per module
  • Registration – Ksh. 1,000 per year
  • Student ID – Ksh. 400 one-time fee
  • Material Development – Ksh. 500 per module
  • Library access fee – Ksh. 1,000 per year
  • Online orientation and support – Ksh. 500or Ksh. 2,900 per year
  • PHT 823: Public Health Field Activities – Attracts an additional fee of Ksh. 14,000
  • Total (Excluding statutory fee): Ksh. 286,000 for the full course

  • Tuition – Ksh. 13,300 per module
  • Examination – Ksh. 500 per module
  • Registration – Ksh. 1,000 per year
  • Student ID – Ksh. 400 one-time fee
  • Material Development – Ksh. 500 per module
  • Library access fee – Ksh. 1,000 per year
  • Online orientation and support- Ksh. 500 and Ksh. 2,900 per year
  • Total (Excluding statutory fee) – Ksh. 228,800

For Master of Arts in Social Policy, Social Development and Management, Educational Administration, Guidance and Counselling, and Educational Psychology:

  • Tuition – Ksh. 11,500 per module
  • Examination – Ksh. 500 per module
  • Registration – Ksh. 1,000 per year
  • Student ID – Ksh. 400 one-time fee
  • Material Development – Ksh. 500 per module
  • Library access fee – Ksh. 1,000 per year
  • Online orientation and support – Ksh. 500 or Ksh. 2,900 per year
  • Total (Excluding statutory fee) – Ksh. 200,000 or 2, 720 US Dollars for the full course

Once you have paid the required amount, scan the receipt or bank slip, and send it to [email protected].

Once the payment is confirmed, an original receipt from the finance officer will be issued to you.
