MyNSFAS Students Portal is an online platform that enables students in South Africa to apply for financial assistance to fund their tertiary education. The portal has been in operation since 2017 and is now in its sixth year running. MyNSFAS Portal
To create a new MyNSFAS portal account, visit the NSFAS website using either your cellphone or computer and go to the portal at https://my.nsfas.org.za. Once you have created an account, you can log in to access a range of services, including applications, registrations, fee payments, and application and payment status checks.
To check your MyNSFAS account status, go to www.nsfas.org.za and click on MyNSFAS Account. Input your username and password and log in to your MyNSFAS account. If you encounter any problems with logging in or have forgotten your password, you can reset it through the portal.

It is highly recommended that students and NSFAS candidates set up MyNSFAS accounts. Here is how it works:
- Go to www.nsfas.org.za and click on “myNsfas account“.
- Enter your username and password.
- Click on the “My personal details” tab.
- Update your cellphone number and/or email address to your current one.
- Click “Update your details” to proceed.
- A One Time Pin (OTP) will be sent to the new number and email address that you have provided.
- Enter the OTP and click submit.
- Your details will immediately be updated.
If you already have an account as an applicant, you can log in with your login, password, or Facebook or Google accounts.

Your cellphone number or email address must be uniquely yours and cannot be shared.
If you are one of the NSFAS 2020 applicants whose application was unsuccessful and you have submitted an appeal, you may check your application results (nsfas status ) by logging into your myNSFAS account.
How to reset your MyNsfas account password
Already have an account but forgot your MyNsfas account password?
Don’t panic, simply reset your Nsfas login password by:
- Clicking on the “Forgot your password” tab and enter your ID number
- Choose whether you have forgotten your username and password and click “Submit“
- You will receive an OTP via email and SMS
- Type in the OTP you received and click “Submit“
- You will then be required to create a new password.
Are you aware that, if your myNSFAS portal account is locked, you must reset your myNSFAS login information by clicking the “Lost your password” link and following the instructions?
You must send a certified affidavit to [email protected] asking that your email and cell phone number be changed with the old and new details reflected if you have forgotten your MyNSFAS login information and do not have access to the email address or cell phone number on the Nsfas system.
