To deliver public health services, Tanzania’s PO-RALG collaborates with the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. The PO-RALG, including the regional and district councils, independently oversees district and regional health services. By coordinating rural and urban development management policies, strategies, and regional secretariat activity, the Ministry of Regional Administration and Local Government manages and administers regional development. To further devolve authority to the local level in Tanzania, it contributes to the development of local governments’ administrative capabilities and the improvement of channels of communication between national and sub-national entities.
