A private university in Tanzania, THE UNITED AFRICAN UNIVERSITY OF TANZANIA (UAUT) was established in 2012 by the Registered Trustees of the Korean Church Mission (KCM) with the goal of producing Christian leaders in Tanzania who are well-versed in Christian principles and who can help reduce poverty and foster economic development. The Vice-Chancellor serves as the primary liaison between the University Council and the Board of Trustees, and the University Council is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the university. A university that has been accredited is the UAUT.

PROGRAMME NAME: BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE (BSc. CS)

JOB TITLE: LECTURER (1 POSITION)

VACANT POSITIONS

(i) Qualifications

  • Holders of PhD and a GPA of 3.5 (Upper Second class) or above a Bachelor's degree and 4.0 or for a Master's degree majoring in Computer Science or related fields.
  • At least three years of working experience in Higher Learning Institutions – Teaching language proficiency

(ii) Duties

  • Providing undergraduates with instruction in the form of class lectures, tutorials, seminars, and labs
  • Conducting field supervision
  • Guiding less experienced faculty members in all academically pertinent areas
  • Taking part in the creation of course materials
  • Taking part in the planning and execution of a wide range of academic initiatives
  • Executing research and disseminating findings
  • Undertaking consultancy
  • Writing pedagogical guides and encyclopedias
  • Overseeing the work of undergraduates
  • workshop, conference, and seminar attendance and planning
  • Any additional responsibilities that management deems appropriate

  • Academic qualifications required include a 4.0 GPA for a Master's degree and a 3.5 GPA for a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related discipline.
  • Facilitating the acquisition of fluent speech
  • Applying is strongly encouraged for graduates.
  • Prior work experience in educational institutions is a plus.

(ii) Duties

  • Completing graduate-level degree programs
  • Those who had never taught before are taking an introductory course.
  • Teaching undergraduate courses through class instruction, small group work, and individual projects
  • Helping out more senior employees at training sessions, seminars, and tutorials - Case study preparation
  • Contributing to joint initiatives with more seasoned team members
  • Providing oversight for capstone projects undertaken by undergraduates
  • Guiding less experienced faculty members in all academically pertinent areas
  • Taking part in the creation of course materials Taking part in the creation and management of a wide range of university-related initiatives
  • Executing research and disseminating findings
  • Writing pedagogical guides and encyclopedias

  • Any additional responsibilities that management deems appropriate
